Retiring Adults

At LJKP, our adults are never “just breeding dogs”. They are a part of our family.❤️

Every now and then, one of our beloved adults that were not chosen by a guardian family reaches retirement and gets the opportunity to move on to the next chapter of life: being completely spoiled as someone’s full-time companion.

These dogs have grown up with us, know routines, and are used to being loved on daily. Because of that, we are extremely selective about the homes they go to. We are looking for families who understand that retired adults deserve patience, love, and a soft place to land while they adjust to their new normal.

Some of our retired adults may do best as only dogs, while others may thrive with companions. Each one has their own unique personality, quirks, and needs — and we take matching them with the right home very seriously.

What you can expect from an LJKP retired adult:
 🐾 Socalized and deeply loved
 🧬 Health tested lines
🩺 Up to date on veterinary care
🏡 Used to living with other dogs and people
 ❤️ Lifetime breeder support always

Retiring our adults is never easy for us emotionally, but seeing them become someone’s cherished companion makes it worthwhile every single time. We cannot keep everyone for life and have them still receive all the love and attention they deserve.

All of our retiring adults will be spayed before they leave us. This is on-negotiable and we take care of all costs related to this.

We do also sometimes help other breeders and rescues out if they have Pomskies needing a new family. ESPECIALLY those of our own lineages, however far down the family tree they are. Those dogs will be posted here as well, though they may not be as socialized as they would be as ours. We will put this in their information section if this is the case.

If you think you may be interested in being considered for one of the retiring adults, feel free to reach out privately to chat more about available personalities and what kind of home may be the best fit.

We do not ask anything for our retiring adults, though if you need boarding until you are ready that is $100 a week and is required to be paid up front. We have unfortunately had too many people take advantage of us being kind and holding for no charge, so we do now ask for boarding if needed.

Torrance
30 Silver Female

Torrance is a beautiful Canadian imported standard-sized wooly Pomsky with a stunning silver and white coat and two bright blue eyes. Now that she’s officially retired, she’s looking for a family to call her own.

Torrance absolutely loves her people. She’s affectionate, enjoys cuddling, and is happiest when she’s spending time with her family. She has a wonderful off switch in the home and truly enjoys being someone’s companion.

She is spayed, up to date on her veterinary care, crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. She has all the basics down and is ready to settle into her forever home.

Torrance would do best in a home without cats or other small pets, as she has a higher prey drive. She does well with people and would love a family that will include her in their everyday life.

As with all of our retired adults, finding the right home is our top priority. We are looking for a family that will love and cherish Torrance for the rest of her life.

If you think Torrance might be the perfect addition to your family, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out an application or contact us with any questions. She is ready to meet you now!

Dove

30lbs Silver Female

Dove is a gorgeous silver and white wooly Pomsky weighing approximately 30 pounds. She has one bright blue eye and one beautifully parti-blue eye that perfectly match her unique personality.

Dove joined us as an adult earlier this spring, so she wasn’t raised in our home from puppyhood. Since arriving, we’ve spent a lot of time helping her learn what life as a beloved house dog is all about. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.

Once Dove trusts you, she is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She loves being close to her people and has a gentle, affectionate nature. She simply needs a little extra time to realize she’s safe. Because of this, her ideal family will be patient, understanding, and willing to let her settle in at her own pace. She is also a rather quiet pomsky. We generally don’t hear much from her!

Dove does have a prey drive, so she should not live with cats or other small pets. She gets along well with male dogs and with easygoing, non-dominant females after proper introductions. As with meeting new people, she appreciates slow introductions and a little time to build trust.

She is looking for a quieter home where she can continue to blossom and become someone’s loyal best friend. The family who gives Dove the patience she deserves will be rewarded with an incredibly loving companion. Leash and doggie door trained! She very rarely has house accidents but in a new home will need someone who is willing to give her the space to adjust!

Dove will be ready for a retirement home later this fall. If you think Dove could be the perfect fit for your family, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out an application or reach out with any questions.

Silvia
25lbs Silver Female

Silvia will be retiring from our program later this summer/fall, and we will slowly begin looking for the perfect home for her.

Silvia is a beautiful wooly silver female with one blue eye and one brown eye, weighing around 28 pounds. While she was not born and raised with us, she has been an incredibly sweet girl during her time here and has made so much progress.

Because Silvia was not properly socialized with people before coming to us, building confidence and trust has been an ongoing journey for her. She has done absolutely fantastic with John and continues to improve, but she is naturally more reserved and less social than many dogs. She will need a patient, understanding retirement home willing to continue putting time and effort into bonding with her and earning her trust.

We do believe part of her personality traits are influenced by her American Eskimo heritage, as we have noticed similar tendencies in higher-Eskimo-content dogs and puppies over time. Silvia thrives best with calm, consistent people who respect her pace and allow her to settle in comfortably.

Silvia will also require a home that is very committed to leash safety or has a secure physical fence. She is not reliable off leash and, if she gets loose, she is not always good about coming back when called. Because of this, her future home must take her safety very seriously and be proactive about preventing escapes.

This girl deserves a home that will appreciate her gentle nature and continue helping her blossom. Once she bonds with someone, she is incredibly loyal and very sweet.
